Demise of Education

My girlfriend and I went to a lecture by Dennis Prager in Minneapolis. The lecture was  about the demise of education. Both my friend Jane and I have nieces that are between 12 and 16. The girls are very successfully brainwashed. Worrying about global warming to the point that they believe  the world will be un-inhabitable during their lifetime. Their grades are average or below but they have excelled in secularism and ridicule faith with a perfectly closed mind. They think religion is "Stupid". Where do they get this? School.

They hate President Bush - They chime, "He is a BAD man" - Do they know why? Not really. They use the words Hate and Love so often that I wonder if they know any other way to describe how they feel.

If a task becomes too uncomfortable to these kids, they simply shut down. There just is no drive in these kids unless it has something to do with shopping.

One ray of hope that Dennis Prager suggested is to encourage the kids to not continue on to college right after high school. Take a year off - allowing them to breath a little of the "real" world.  At first I thought this was a little drastic. But, watching my niece this summer - away from the school's influence - I see such a "nicer" child. I see a work ethic developing. Someone that wants to contribute rather than take, take, take.

Is there hope for our children in the future? Hope is all I have.
